Spotted Hyena

                   Spotted Hyena
           (Crocuta, Crocuta)

The Spotted Hyena is found in Sub-Saharan Africa. They live throughout much of Africa and   eastwards through Arabia to India.
Although the Spotted Hyena is thought of as a scavenger, a large portion of the hyena's diet comes fromhunting live animals such as gazelle, zebras and wildebeest. They also kill and eat birds, lizards, snakes, and insects. Hyenas will hunt alone or in a pack, and they are opportunistic predators.

Aproximate weight of a Hyena is usually between 110-160 lbs, with females slightly heavier                   than male. Aproximate length of a Hyena is 3-f-ft.

Spotted hyenas are the largest of three hyena species. Brown and striped hyenas are the other two. Although hyenas appear similar to dogs, they are actually more closely related to cats. Spotted hyenas live together in large groups called clans that may include up 80 individuals and are led by females.

They have good hearing and sharp eyesight at night. They are fast and can run for long distances without tiring. Packs work together effectively to isolate a herd animal, sometimes one that is ill or infirm, and pursue it to the death. The victors often squabble over the spoils, either among themselves or with other powerful animals like lions.

They are quite vocal and make a wide variety of sounds, including the "laughing" that has long been associated with their name.

The Life in My City

The life in my city is really quiet, is a small town but is beautiful, Pachuca Hidalgo has a population
of 256,284 people until now, but fifteen years ago Pachuca was a City less urbanized and quieter, the
people could to walk into the night , there were a few cars and the roads were really different, there weren't  malls in the city, the schools were less popular . And in my neighborhood you could meet your neighbors and have a relationship with them, but now is totally different now you can choise in differents school for study there are many school as private as public universities, there are many cars around the city, much traffic in the morning, there are like three malls in all Pachuca.
The City is bigger, there are many jobs in differents places. The population is bigger than 10 years ago now you don't know many people, nobody looks familiar, but you can do many things now and there are many places for adventure and enjoy with your family, I love my town.

One Week in The Mountains

I took a trip couple years ago when I was in college, was a bussiness trip just for a week, I went to the mountains in the state that I live is named Hidalgo, like 7 hours away , I went to do a survey to people about eleccions was awesome because I didn't know all my state I had contact with nature, and with the people.
The people are very different from people living in the city  actually they speak Spanish and also speak another language, The people in the little town named Calnali are really friendly. They usually invite people to eat in their own homes they are very hospitable with foreigh people. I really enjoyed my trip because I felt at home.
The view was totally green, there are many mountains and waterfalls and rivers was very nice.
